School Lighting Recommendations

Printer-friendly versionSend by emailPDF version

When choosing the most appropriate lighting for schools, light level requirements (per IES recommendations) is a priority.  Advanced reflector technology enables many fixtures to be delamped and retrofitted with highly efficient  reflector kits to achieve a respectable light level, or new fixtures are available.

For recessed  2X4 troffers with acrylic lens, our universal 2-lamp KTC Series is the most widely used – since it provides considerable energy cost savings. Another alternative is our narrow 3-lamp KTD Series or the 3-lamp wide KTA Series. We also offer specific kits for parabolic fixtures, such as our 2-lamp KPG Series, which is a favorite for 18 cell louver fixtures.

New Fixtures
Surface mount wrap fixtures are available for new fixture replacements. We offer 3 different styles; the SWN Series is our narrow wrap and the most popular choice for schools. We also offer the SWM Series, the medium wrap, and the SWW Series, the wide wrap. For grid ceilings we have the 2x4 TRF Series or the parabolic P Series.
